Welcome to my new Science Families! Now that we have completed the switch, I wanted to take a minute to let you know what will be occurring in my class for the remainder of the year. We are currently in the process of wrapping up our studies on Astronomy and concluding our Terran Community Project. We will culminate this unit with an exam on Monday, February 8th. This test is unique in the fact that your student will write a paper (in class) that is a final report for their planet or moon. Students will be allowed to use the information that they have gathered throughout the project as they work on the test. They may create an outline or notes before the exam to organize their thoughts but they may not write the paper ahead of time. They will be allowed one class period to do this test. Along with writing the exam on Monday, students also have a brochure that is due to hand in with the test. This was assigned last week with notification that it is to be submitted as part of their test. Please ask your student about the requirements if you have any questions. Once we conclude our segment on Astronomy, we will officially split from Mr. Hough’s class as we begin our studies of Mapping.
