'Train Insane or Remain the Same'

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Through involvement in our competitive athletic sports program at TCMS we aim for students to:

  • Develop physical skills and fitness
  • Develop an understanding of commitment and the value of dedicated practice.
  • Embrace their interdependence and understand the need for team work as a pre-requisite for success.
  • Develop leadership skills through distinct roles during the season.
  • Trust and respect the value of good sportsmanship and practice it through their treatment of officials, peers, opponents, and spectators during activities.
  • Have fun and use physical activity as a means of stress release.
  • Demonstrate courage by taking appropriate risks with the aim of self-growth.
  • Refine existing skills and learn new ones.
  • Learn to win and lose on the court or field of play with “class.”

I hope this message finds everyone in good health. I would like to share that due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, schools in our sports league, TCAL (Tampa Charter Athletic League), will not be competing in Fall sports (Co-ed Cross Country / Girls Volleyball / Boys Soccer). We acknowledge that the physical, mental, and social-emotional benefits of sports is extremely important to the overall development of our students. However, the health and safety of our students and their families is our priority, and are taking this unfortunate step to cancel theses seasons.
All TCAL athletic directors will meet in late September, early October to discuss the possibility of safely returning to competitive sports in the Winter.

If you have any questions about our program, please feel free to contact me at robert.negron@tcmstornadoes.com.

*** If you are interested in submitting your interest in coaching @ TCMS, please email me at robert.negron@tcmstornadoes.com with your name, sport you are interested in coaching, best form of contact, and brief coaching experience snapshot. We rely on teachers, as well as parents, to help coach our teams.***
